Who Validates A Master?
The Martial Arts community is saturated with the most judgmental people in existence, who thrive off of insulting and discrediting people whom they have never met, as well as styles that they have never done. So, who should we truly listen to when we want an informed and validated critique about a Martial Art or a Martial Artist? The loudest person on social media? The guy who watches all the movies but has never trained? The guy who fights every weekend but has never studied an art? The person who goes to a commercialized Martial Arts school? Or the guy who says he can beat everyone because he'll shoot them?
Sadly, the validation & awards that come with the traditions and manners of the Martial Arts attract masses of egotistical people on the outside and inside of the fence. This can leave us victim to agenda and self-serving answers when we choose to ask someone who we assumed was an expert of the Martial Arts.
Well, I do have an answer that I feel provides fair, untampered clarity towards the questions regarding the validation of Martial Arts Disciplines, and the Martial Artists who practice and claim to be honored representatives of the Martial Arts.
