Is Punching Good For Self-Defense

There is much controversy and even more know it all-ness in the Martial Arts and combat community around the question of whether punches should or shouldn't be taught and advised to use during self-defense situations. Many long-time practitioners of the Martial Arts stand strongly against punching during self-defense because of the risk behind breaking the hand on the skull. And many long-time street fighters who grew up fighting in the streets with regularly using punches, and never injuring a hand, advise differently. Well, you know my thoughts on this one. It's the same as always and that is, ...there's more to it. Everything is circumstantial. And that's why I created a video to make giving my answer easier.

Are we foolish to think punching belongs anywhere outside of competition & fitness workouts?
